ABOUT
US
|
| Mixed Image Disco [MID] started in about 1989. The name Mixed Image
came from a band that Belinda used to play in which played many different
kinds of music. When the group disbanded, the music still flowed within
Belinda. One day at skating, the DJ didn't show up for work, so she
thought it couldn't be that hard. The result? The kids had a ball.
Belinda dreamt of doing this full time and working for herself. She
started working three jobs to support her new passion. And with that
MID was born. |
| |
| MID started doing mobile discos and built from there. The first
nightclub gig was at Reo's Nightclub at Ballina. Belinda found this
particularly new and exciting as she learnt a great deal from the
other professionals working around her. As MID grew, the types of
functions it attended began to vary. Word of mouth increased and the
remarks were always positive, with return clients from birthdays contacting
MID to serve their weddings. Many people are surprised by the energy
levels of the MID staff and comment on their vitality and professionalism. |
| |
| MID DJ's are trained to read the room in which they are working.
This training helps them provide the right type of mood, music and
atmosphere for the guests. There is nothing more fulfilling for a
DJ when a visitor requests a song that has just been cued to play
next. It is a huge buzz for the guest [who normally leaves the booth
with a big smile on their face] and is an affirmation that the DJ
is performing well for the client. MID also has no problem with refraining
from playing a particular style of music, which the patron doesn't
want. [Especially country music J ] |
| |
| When MID was offered the contract to provide entertainment for a
range of clubs, it boosted the staff numbers and expansion plans of
MID. The clubs knew that MID would benefit their venues bringing a
higher level of professionalism and availability than ever before.
MID continues at these clubs, as well with many other types of
functions and establishments. And with all their gigs, they still
provide superior staff, dedication and atmosphere.
